About Me.

Someone said, "Find a job that you love and you will never work a day in your life." In 1991 I made a career switch from a job in the corporate world to a ministry in education. The before-mentioned quote could not be more true for me. Education is my passion, and over the years I have devoted myself to being the best educator I could be. To a large extent, this meant furthering my education as you may note below, but more than that it has meant keeping up with the latest research, trying new things, and integrating technology into the classroom.

I have always believed that education is much like medicine. Medicine either terrible tasting or delicious is beneficial for children. Education either boring or fun and exciting is also good for children. Still, just as is the case with delicious medicine, children will be much more enthusiastic about fun and exciting learning and be much more likely to embrace it with all of their efforts. Modern research now confirms that educational techniques that children enjoy yield better results than traditional methods. See links to articles below.

With this site, I offer myself as an experienced tutor that will employ creative and fun teaching methods with your child.  I will also post links to books that I have written for students aged 8 to 12 which you may purchase. However, whether you avail yourselves of my services or buy any of my books, I hope that you will enjoy the site. Read the articles and join the discussions. I would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Dr. G.
